Mike is an articling student at King Defence. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction at Grant MacEwan University in Psychology and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Alberta. In law school, Mike was active in Student Legal Services and took courses focusing on criminal law, including sentencing, wrongful convictions, and criminal procedure. In his third year, Mike was accepted into the course Low Income Individuals and the Law which included a practicum component where he was placed with Legal Aid Alberta for the year.

 

Born and raised in Edmonton, Mike is passionate about the community and assisting those in it. He practices exclusively criminal law and defends individuals charged with Criminal Code, drug, regulatory offences and traffic offences. Mike is a member of the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association.

 

Mike believes that criminal law is a helping profession. The criminal justice system is complex and stressful. Mike is committed to ensuring his clients understand the process, feel heard and respected, and are given straightforward answers and advice. His goal is always to get you the best resolution possible and ensure your Charter rights are protected.
